Changemaker uses other books as the resource for some of the basic plan. We have spend 30 years researching, enjoying, and implementing self-help, exercise, diet, food program, spiritual, emotional, mental, psychology and addiction books. We have developed recommendations for addiction and recovery topics which are included on this blog, Changemaker.
However, we are now more focused on holistic healing—helping others to develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. So the Changemaker Plan includes the books we have found that have proved to be significant to become our “textbooks”.
For several years, the popular book market have had many books—most of which is helpful. Changemaker didn’t want to add to the plethora of such books available by writing another book. Instead we have adopted a few to add to our core plan. Our core basis for the Changemaker Library is currently 34 books. On another password-protected blog, we are developing a comprehensive data base for these 34 books with guides available linking the information in each book by topic.
For the Changemaker ebook and its password-protected blog, Changemaker Online, you will receive the following:
1) The Changemaker Weight Loss Program which includes food program tips and guidelines. From these food ideas, you will design your weight loss plan around the food that you most enjoy. Portion control is the only guideline that we advocate. This means counting the calories. To help you design your plan, we recommend developing an extensive list of 100-200 servings of all your favorite foods. Don’t sabotage yourself by including foods that you know you won’t control. I haven’t had cereal in my home for 5 years because I know I will eat it until it is empty.
2) A modified exercise program will be chosen by you from five exercise books that teach you how to exercise. Also included are references to test that should be taken before, after, and during exercise.
3) Mental techniques from many sources are included to begin helping you to listen to your negative self-talk.
4) Emotional support is introduced with deep breathing techniques, meditation, becoming centered to begin helping you to learn how to substitute relaxation for stress. Everyone experiences stress but staying in the stressful state is a choice.
5) The Changemaker Personality Profile Test is included. It has all the 25 personality labels for the test. With this information, you can help others to better understand themselves. The test includes NLP (neurolinguistic programming), MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator), family roles, emotional energy types, and birth order. Included are many links to websites giving more information about each of the personality test categories. Also included are links for the Big Five Test, the enneagram and the Holland Test.
6) The basic goal of the Changemaker Program is to help you to help others. The best gift I have received during my recovery that began in 1976 is the ability to forget about myself while helping others. So the plan includes techniques to help you set up your own small groups. In the phenomenal change in Protestant religion today in the United States and throughout the world is the realization that we need small groups–the community—to feel connected.
7) All these tools will be what you will use to create your won healing sessions for you and/or for your group. The sessions are developed by you and for you and will include: emotional, mental, physical (food and exercise), meditation, relaxation, as well as individual topics techniques. The individual topics are unique with each session.
