By laszlo-photo

want to write them down in a notebook and review them weekly. Your short-term goals should be connected to your long-term goals.

You may want to use an action board. This can be a large bulletin board (I use 22×34 and I have 4 of them). My bulletin boards also have copies of paintings, nature, and the ocean along with my goals.

You may use 3×5 cards on your bulletin board under 4-5 goal headings. Be sure to include the estimated deadline for each goal. You may use general headings: such as, goals-dreams-problems-solutions. You may choose to add post-it notes to your index cards. I use dressmakers’ pins which are long straight pins. I use these because they make smaller holes in my pictures and they work great on the bulletin. You may want to save the old index cards to watch your progress. By using multi-colored cards you can easily track your progress with a glance.

If you have the room, you may choose to cover the entire wall with corkboard to have a large area for your planning.

In a large office setting with meeting room capabilities for large groups, the walls may be lined with dry eraser boards to use for brain-storming sessions which may be a weekly event.

Remember to be specific with planned completion dates. Some sample goals may be:

Personal development

Develop a support group of 3-5 people during the next month.

Join a volunteer group; for example. Teach someone to read by joining a literary group.

Sign up for computer class at a local college.

Arrange to take some tests that show your interests and/or abilities.

Family development

Set aside one weekend per month to arrange special dates with your spouse.

Schedule separate quality time with each of your children.

Spiritual growth

Set aside 15-20 minutes each day to practice meditation.

Choose a topic about spirituality and study everything about it.

Using a steno pad or similar notebook, find a topic for study in a concordance of the Bible or other spiritual literature and record the verses you find for the topic you’ve chosen.

On 3×5 index cards, record valuable quotations for spiritual qualitites you want to work on.

Marketing statement: in 25 words or less, define what you believe your work offers to the world.

Finish reading here.

The easiest change to make is changing your thoughts. Think of the negative thoughts as being stuck in arut or circle. Round and round they go but no change occurs. Reframe your thoughts by rewording them. Go from I can’t to I can. All it takes is changing your thoughts.

After the walk-take your heart rate before you begin. Write it down and complete your walk. After the walk, write down how long the walk too. Also record your heart rate and record it also.

I am reinventing myself again. Six months ago, I took my main blog, Changemaker: Reinventing Yourself and divided the information among five separate blogs. So I now have six blogs in the Changemaker Family of Blogs. Each has individual keywords for each.

The blogs and keywords are:

Changemaker: Reinventing Yourself (spirituality–callings–creativity–simplicity–religions–prayer–life mission

Answers By Email (Changemaker Test) (birth order–career–enneagram–jobs–NLP–MBTI–personality–self-knowledge

Changemaker Groups (ACOA–change–codependency–communities–groups–helping others–ministry–support groups

Changemaker Library (Amazon–books–library–RSS)

Healing For You (balanced life–emotional health–mental health–mindfulness–recovery–spiritual practices–stress reduction–therapy–twelve steps

High Energy Goals (exercise–food–weight loss–goals–diet–fitness)

I introduce the above information to make it clear that each of my blogs is an entity unto itself. It is a shame that those of us who desire to help our readers by offering simplicity with one main topic blogs have to be aware that blog spamming is hard to detect by bots–software not by humans.

I have believed for ten years that Internet search will be done by humans and not by bots. I haven’t used Google for specific searches for over two years. Blogs have helped to locate specific information but are such a vast number that finding them takes a concentrated search each day. RSS has helped to keep track of the blogs we want to follow.

With introduction of all the social media tools available, the search for the information we want is widespread and becoming overwhelming.

So I decided to put my key topics in my six blogs and to become a blog link cataloger. If you are interested in any of the above keywords plus social media, marketing, and online communities, I will be posting key articles by topic for each of the above six blogs.

I believe I have laid the foundation for my being an “expert” in the above keyword areas. Now I am going to use my love of research and organization to bring you up-to-date links for all the keywords above.

So I reinvent myself again–to blog link cataloger. When do I get a pay increase?

My blog takes on a life of its own from time to time. When I come to a space where I don’t know which direction to take, I go through a period without knowing the new direction.

I call this space “letting go”.

Two responses begin to exert themselves in this space: (1) I find myself in fear and panic, or (2) my brain tries to ‘figure out’ what to do next. Neither approach accomplishes anything except to use my energy in a negative way. AA calls the second approach: “the paralysis of analysis.”

When I get tired of spinning my wheels, I relax into the solution. It always seems that the solution was there all along and I am the last to arrive at the party.

The new direction for Changemaker has always been there.

We have evolved from mental health to a recovery/addiction to life coach to weight loss to our final destination, I believe.

What we will be concerned with is change of all types and varieties. I’ve know for several years that all I need to do in life to feel fulfilled is to help others. So I will be creating a reservoir for the wonderful opportunities for help with change that exist on other blogs and sites.

If you have any favorite change sites, please email them to me. Life is so easy when I do what I love to do. Steve Jobs gave a wonderful commencement address that he titled: “You’ve got to find what you love.” I’ll write more about his address tomorrow. I want to help you find what you love to do.

Clean as you go–(really helps when cooking.)

Develop routines and systems.

The paradox of self-discovery is that the more we understand ourselves, the more we understand and accept others. The more we know, the less we fear. A Course in Miracles teaches that there are only two main emotions: love and fear.

The Changemaker Test, designed to provide personality indicators–called labels–so anyone has some tools about themselves that they can study to see why they make the decisions and choices they make. Then from this foundation of self-discovery, he/she can continue exploring and recreating themselves through her/his lifetime.

The Changemaker Test Categories are:
(1) NLP–Neurolinquistic Programming
(2) Birth Order
(3) Family Roles

During the energy you spend in re-inventing yourself, you will learn new career choices for your personality labels. The labels can be quite effective at weeding out what you love to do and what you’ve taught yourself to do against your basic nature. Find what you love to do and life will be a continual joyful experience.

“The concept of energy and the flow of that energy in the human body is the core of the current explosion in healing. The healing principle is to “balance” the energy in the body by using relaxation to counter the body’s reaction to stress.” The Berkeley Holistic Health Center

The High Energy Life Plan integrates all the tools for living a healthy, balanced life. Many times busy people will see or read something that they would love to integrate into their lives. They also lack the time to plan and execute a total health plan. The Life Plan includes food/diet choices, exercise choices, and emotional/mental techniques for stress reduction. All the pre-tests, measurements, references for each of the three categories (diet, exercise, and emotional/mental tools) are given.

We have spent 30 years researching, enjoying, and implementing self-help, exercise, diet, nutrition, spiritual, emotional, mental, psychology and addiction books. Our central focus is on holistic healing—mind, body and soul. So the High Energy Life Plan includes the books we have found to have become our “textbooks”. These books are incorporated in our Changemaker Library.

On the High Energy Life Plan password-protected blog, we have included the exact page numbers for different techniques offered in the High Energy Diet. All of the books used are the choices of Changemaker without solicitation from any author or publisher. We include the title of the book, the author, the ISBN number, and an Amazon link if you choose to order the books yourself.

Our goal is that each person using the High Energy Life Plan can create and continually change her/his health plan. Health takes effort to maintain. Each of us needs to know what we need to attain our highest level of health.

Four of these books are used as the core books for the High Energy Life Plan. These books are included with an Amazon link:

“In our lives we are faced with a set of core issues that resurface again and again in different settings, with different people, at different times. These issues involve our relationship with the world, with ourselves, with our Higher Power. These are our life lessons.” Stephanie Covington and Liana Beckett

Groups are the recognized best method for people to gain information and acceptance from others. One of the main underpinings of AA is that all members are peers. Anyone has the opportunity to share and to be heard.

In the self-discovery model of group healing, everyone in the group is a student. The sharing of power in relationships defines the health of the relationship. No hierarchy is needed when people enter groups to help each other. The leadership of the group can be shared by all on a rotation basis.

The group members in the self-discovery group may decide to choose a rotation schedule. The main goal of the group may be short-term with the idea of splitting up to form new groups. Some people may choose to recycle–repeat the same group–before branching out to their own group. After 2-3 times recycling, the other group members may help with the formation of new group to a group member who wants to continue in her/his first group.

Self-discovery groups are easy to organize with Squidoo. Squidoo is free and is designed for any lensmaster (which you become by publishing one lens) to be able to start his/her own group. I have started a Changemaker group in Squidoo open to anyone. If you have questions, post them in the Changemaker group.

All the Squidoo groups are listed here. Check out how other groups look and incorporate into the Changemaker group. For now, I will act as moderator so that I can answer questions. But in the near future, I will sharing leadership with anyone who wants to join.

Excerpt from the Book:

“You won’t find silly gimmicks in ChangeOne. We’re not going to make you a vegetarian, a strict carnivore, a caveman, or a goddess. But we’re radically different in one crucial way: ChangeOne asks you to approach dieting one meal at a time, one week at a time. (ChangeOne means just that—ine change at a time.) We won’t overwhelm you on the first day. Most diets ask you to throw out the way you eat overnight and adopt a new plan. You might be Mary today, but tomorrow you’re supposed to become Elle. The bigget problem with that kind of approach is people will eventually go back to their old ways—after all, you are Mary—and gain back the weight they lost.”
